Triplette is the only Sport Fencing supplier that produces our own lames in house. We do this so we can have complete control of the materials and the production. If you have a problem with fit or quality of our lames you can call and speak directly with the head seamstress, how many other suppliers can you do that with? We offer two styles of lames. Super Duty Lames
Our Super-Duty lame material has threads that are 100% nickel. Why nickel? Lames that contain copper will turn green and lose conductivity. Lames made of stainless will not turn green but stainless threads are stiff and will break from the continual bending, again losing conductivity. Nickel on the other hand does not contain copper and is soft allowing it to bend. Our super duty lames have a much longer life span than any other lame on the market. The average life for a Super-Duty lame is usually 5-7 years, if you take care of it by hanging it up and allowing it to dry after a long day of fencing. Ultra Light Lames
Triplette Ultra Light lames have been a round for years. We started the Ultra Light lame here in the U.S. They are washable and they are made to last. Our Ultra Light lames have a proven track record. Our material is strong and is used in some military applications so you know it has to be tough and durable!!! The average life is usually 3-5 years, if you take care of it by hanging it up and allowing it to dry after a long day of fencing.
